through the looking glass lives unfold a fragile landscape woven
veldt of waving tears and dream in reach beyond horizons flowing

fingers brush the surface, glimpse of passage offered here then gone
winged messengers a quest, in shielded purpose, plied afar from home

alluring colors speak of lightness, guessing fireflies drunken flight
in rests between vie shadowed meanings, hidden callings ebb the night

through the looking glass lives unfold, tableau, rendered in relief
brush strokes of tenderness and fear, painted, shimmering in the heat
