Through the Sheer Curtained Windows

private conversations on public sidewalk
obvious lovers holding hands
fold in delicate intent
I do not possess
                from envy
                by 2rivers

While an overheard whisper
Might entice my willing ear,
Private conversations on public sidewalk
Almost always draws me near.

Through the sheer curtained windows
Subtle motions catch my eyes
Obvious lovers holding hands
And everything that implies.

Not one for idle gossip
I try to note when fingers
Fold in delicate intent
An innocent kiss lingers

Beyond the respectable.
While it's not that I distain
What I do not possess
It does tend to entertain.

I had forgotten about smithpeter's 2rivers name. No one can write like that man. He was the best. And I think you took the inspiration you got from his poem and used it wonderfully. :)
