Time

There are dreams I have of days long past.
Where true love conquered all and was meant to always last.
A time where knights once ruled the land
And long for the slightest touch of a maiden’s hand.
Where ladies were treated as such and chivalry wasn’t dead
And dreams of unicorns and fairies danced in every child’s head.
If I could go back in time this is where I’d probably stay
Because sometimes I feel I don’t fit in this age today.
I want to see untouched lands and breathe fresh air.
Not highways, skyscrapers and people in despair.
But, alas, I know it cannot be done.
I must stay here but luckily I’m not alone.
For, I have found my one true love, you see
And he makes this time beautiful, wild, and carefree.
So now my favorite dream is of him being forever mine
For he is the only dream I need to last me a lifetime.
