Rushing, racing, never pausing
Time for work but not for play
Pass my partner at the door
Kiss on cheek then I'm away
Lives in parallel, not together
Need for money, bills to pay
I wish there was another way...
Stop
Time for love and time for passion
Reassurance of a hug
Scent of skin thrills my nostrils
Pounding heart in heaving chest
Whispered words call me 'special'
Touch of lips, adoring, soft
Heat of your body over mine
Exquisite squeeze of penetration
Sensual lovemaking, writhing as one
I exhale...
Time slows
Screech of phone shatters the moment
Back to work, no time for fun
Dressing fast you grab your briefcase
Mutter "sorry" then you're gone
Life is passing, time so precious
Can't you see what we have done?
We've both lost sight of what's important
Life loses meaning when passion's gone.
