Click hereTime after time, I fall into that trap
And make the same mistake. I just don't care
How often she breaks my heart with a snap
Of her fingers or the flip of her hair.
Time after time, I am lur'd by her smile
Into thinking she is willing to try
My arms for the night or for a short while.
But her eyes say no, and I wonder why?
Time after time, she finds fault in my clothes,
The lack of funds in my banking accounts,
The slight rise and the bending of my nose.
Upon my faults, she is leaping to pounce.
Time after time, I try to understand
How a smart, goodlooking young man like me
Could be so swayed by such a small hand
Tossed aside like a boat on the sea.
Time after time, I say her looks will fade
And the things that she loves will not matter,
She will be alone in the hell she made
With each inviting smile, meant to flatter.
Time after time, I leave her there and go
To my own hell, where she in not with me.
Where I am alone, she will never know
How sad I am, because she cannot see.
