TIPS FOR TITS

what a $100 tip buys ya

there was something special at cash register 5
something that might keep me alive
red curly hair and all the rest
the smile, the eyes, the bountiful chest
the warmth that could melt a glacier of ice
something so special, something so nice
I couldn’t help but gift a tip
I don’t suppose another thought of it
who tips a clerk for bagging the stuff
it wasn’t like the work made her puff
but so sweet she came from behind the register
to kiss my cheek, a hemisphere
in need of affection like those things in life
at that moment I would have made her my wife
but there were miles to put behind me
a sea of sand and sun to blind me
mountains of stone and turtles wandering
across the desert I drove ….
wondering if her pubic hair was red and curly
small comfort for the dry heat
her phone number burning in my pocket
her promise that next trip we’d meet
