Plans to chase a sunset
postponed due to clouds and rain.
Car with the top up, meanders through
structured city streets and lazy cornfields.

Radio plays that saving horses song
as astounding coincidence
ties past conversation
to present day fun.

Fumbling words are recovered
by joint nervous laughter.
While stadium lights lend distraction,
quiet pauses are still overruled.

Tentative smooches become stronger
as top is lowered and clouds fill in.
Insignificant to the universe
but not to each other.

Liquid pools of green and brown
communicate the unspoken;
tongues parry and thrust
as lips capture breathlessness.

Soft skin savors whisker burn,
telegraphs the differences
between male and female;
each transmits inherent power.

‘Don’t move’ is whispered
and deliciously obeyed.
Moans escape through open lips,
touch is swirled on bare skin.

Panther poem entices
mouth-watering kisses;
demands accepted freely
masculine hands admired.

Rain drizzles then flows
as bodies cool from the heat.
Top returned, cocoon intact
as heads bury closer.

Relished moments left for later revival,
cherished and treasured for their novelty.
The marvel remains for both to explore
once again, when sunsets cannot be chased.
