Cupid has always played a role in the celebrations of love and lovers. He is known as a mischievous, winged child, whose arrows would pierce the hearts of his victims causing them to fall deeply in love. In ancient Greece he was known as Eros the young son of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. To the Roman's he was Cupid

To Cupid,

Dearest Cupid, sender of love, mischief maker,
The target locked for your next match, in sight
Bow drawn and arrow of love poised for flight.
Pause please, before you let fly that arrow go

Just a quick question or two my favourite matchmaker
Love is a great thing and you give it away for free
But do you get paid overtime or have a secretary?
Since lovers are meeting all the time when do you holiday?

I was thinking the other day of ways to increase your clientele
You could advertise your services in the paper or on tv
0 800 Cupid's love arrow Call now at $4.95 a min, plus GST
Do you need a manager? I am free you know and can oblige.

Do your arrows ever go awry or are they always on target?
I have to ask because the first love you sent me was a good'un
Like chalk and cheese, wine and vinegar but he was fun
The second? Uh uh. No way, no love match there brother.

Third time around, and last please, Cupid, cherub of love?
You did a great job, he is a keeper. Third time lucky, I say
So last question, before you continue on your loving way
Who are you going to send your next arrow of love to?
