I still look for you in the snow,
hidden eyes behind the mask.
learning to fly without wings;
you gave me this gift
only to abandon me.

I still seek your wisdom
even though time has run out.

I look in the desert
where we saw pelicans,
so out of place.
Where the sun burned naked flesh
and the dust danced in smoky plums
as we burned through the air...

I look in the river
where you showed me
to see from a different perspective.
Beaten and bruised
against the rocks,
before the sun warmed the sky.

Your in my hollow footsteps
down deserted docks,
voice in the waves
lapping on the sides of the boats.

You are the tiggerlilly on the mountain top,
the shadowed dappling
of the sun through the evergreens
in the summer heat.

You will always be the gold coin
shining in the dust of my memories.
I find you in myself,
even when you belong to someone else...

I have finally learned,
to flow around the rocks.

letting go.

a subject near and dear to me.

I can empathize with so many of these feelings, and you presented them in some very unique and fresh ways.

In my opinion the best line is the last

~ I have finally learned to flow around the rocks~

It sums up the journey and shows growth, acceptance, and wisdom.

A very " deep" poem that is also a beautiful read

Thank you

a great piece....

that is wonderful throughout. certain lines hit me as if to say that life has difficult lessons. through that, it becomes clear to one that on can let go. it feels good when it gets to this point. i wish i had gotten to it sooner. but have had a couple hectic days....super job sabina!!....don

lovely throughout and a couple of images really hit me in regards to life's difficult lessons and finally have come to a point where its been there long enough. one is able to let it go and it feels good that it has happened. that is my take. i wish i had gotten to it sooner. but things have been hectic lately........super job sabina!!...don

Lovely.

Vivid imagery and deep meaning throughout. Especially in this part,

"You will always be the gold coin

shining in the dust of my memories.

I find you in myself,

even when you belong to someone else..."
