It was one shining moment in the rhythm of our days,
A moment of such clarity and yet introspection,
Taking us places we didn't necessarily want to go,
Enlightening us,
Humbling us too,
Surprised by its joy,
Ambushed by its tender trap,
Exalted,
Overwhelmed by stronger forces,
An army of feeling and sensation,
Lined up before weapons from which there was no defence
But to surrender,
Not once but many times,
Not knowing if, nor wanting each surrender to be the last,
For in surrendering there was salvation,
A reconnection to life,
An embracing of living,
Yet dying to the world.
