They’ve been talking about it forever
In legend, song, and verse
They laud it to the heavens
Or speak of it as a curse
They make it the base of all that's good
More precious than solid gold
But, it’s a two-edged sword
Which could bring you pain untold

Love, oh Love... Oh, Glorious Love
That’s what they’re praying for
To sip just once from the chalice
And be happy evermore
To find a love so sublime
Special... Consuming... Complete
A feeling so strong and heady
Which nothing can defeat

Some speak of love in the present
Some speak of love in the past
Some speak of love eternal
And yet, it does not last

Lucky is the person
Who finds the love of their life
To hold, and share, and laugh, and cry
As I have with my wife
