My yearning heart paralyzes me.
I force my steps to continue forward
Not wanting to focus on my destination.

Was it just yesterday that my heart felt free?
Free to love, explore, imagine new things?
Many new adventures with you by my side,
No longer an option in today's light.

Reaching the station,
Dragging myself ahead.
Ordering my one-way ticket home.

My broken heart screams "no"
As I climb each step, walking towards the back.
Smiling weakly at strange faces.
Then settling quietly by a window.

Gazing at the City that welcomed me in.
Fleeting glimpses, my last goodbye.
Resting my forehead on the cold glass.

You held me close, convinced me to love.
You gave my heart wings to fly and to dream.
Dreams I thought were ours were really just mine.
I see it clearly now in today's light.
