He tore her petals
one by one
a pot pourri bleeding the sap
of sunshine days.
Ethereal once now shackled,
roots pulled dying slowly,
light dimmed by a heavy mind.
Dance once more sweet briar
remembering the warmth
of long ago
into the heavens.
