See it today, this redundant receptacle of a nation’s shame,
And marvel at the constant procession of prying eyes
Seeking blame, and more, much more.
Shuffling along, this latter day jury of a crime so vast,
Seeing evidence of a horror from a time
Not long past, and more, much more.

The soft spoken prosecutors leading the way,
Explaining the meaning of Block no. 10,
And how many died,
On this, or that day. And more, much more.
Then Birkenau looms, a subsidiary camp,
With its gateway of death and a heart-stopping sight,
The unloading ramp, and more, much more.

See the memorial that stands for all,
Conceived and designed as a crematory tower.
Study the ruins of gas chamber 2, and walk
Down the steps where they went for a “shower.”
And more, much more.
And whilst viewing the burning pits,
These grass covered mounds, with their chippings of bone,
Consider the culprits, and did they atone?
Not ever!!
