I sat and waited patiently on the beach,
Looking toward the western sky ,
For the portrait that soon would be painted,
A masterpiece, on a canvas of pale blue sky,
Your pallette of colors accidentally tipped ,
Splashes of reds, yellows, pinks , and orange, and blue.

This amazing masterpiece colored my tranquil lagoon ,
As the wind from the east made it swirl and move,
I know this beautiful painted sunset will be gone soon,
I wished it would stay a while and rest,
But the universe seemed very busy,
So I sadly watched it sink down into the western horizon,

Across the deep blue sea, darkness slowly came,
and my island serenity slowly faded away ,
Peaceful, and calm I lay watching the waves cascade,
Then at midnight I felt the gentle rain ,
So I laid in my little island hut and rested,
With the light of dawn, in the east, I saw the majestic painting again.
