As a Drug Induced Euphoria and
a Surreal Experience and
"as beautiful as a chance encounter
of a sewing machine and umbrella
on an operating table."
― Comte de Lautréamont
While I was saying "I love you"
to my anesthesiologist,
Doctor Strange tested his lightsaber wand
which in galactic Italian
is called a resectoscope
because it looks like Pinocchio's nose.
"I wouldn't lie to you, Hon,"
I said to my love who said let's count
down from one to one hundred.
She must've been confused by the math
because she asked me "How are we doing?"
fading away in Venice
in one of my eighty-six gondolas.
At least we'll always have Paris.
Back in the States, I was telling Strange,
who looks a lot like Salvador Dali,
I had reality well in hand
until my catheter leaked some wee wee.
"Tant pis!" said Strange; "oui oui," I said
while Sal, painting P on my X-ray, said,
"What an exquisite corpse!"
