Our friendship is a bounteous treasure chest
That overflows with kindness and respect
It sparkles with shared loyalty expressed
Within the rich rapport that we project.
This cherished treasure is so dear and rare
And valuable beyond all price to me
Deserving of the very best of care
And so I seek to treat it tenderly.
At times I dare to think I may enhance
The value of our wealth of amity
With whispers and caresses of romance.
I balk for worry that you might then flee.
But would I find a bigger treasure still?
Or would I pay a never-ending bill?
