I reach to the backdrops
Of my mind
In the hope that some memory
Was left behind
That would bring a smile
Or a tear to my face
As long as it would take me
To that coveted place
Where l would swear I could feel
And breathe his essence
Where I could touch him, kiss him,
Actually feel his presence
To look in his eyes
So soft and so blue
To revel in the bond
Only he and I knew
He'd dance with me
While I stood on his feet
He'd sing to me
With his voice so sweet
He'd look down at me
And call me his "doll"
This is the one thing
I wish above all
To be able to tell him
Just one more time
That I love you so much
Beautiful Dad of mine
