How many times did she offer
to walk in the door
& kneel on the floor
right after work?
Ooooh! That’s It!
seemed to make him forget.
She would have let him win at
Strip Chocolate.
Two dresser drawers
full of teddies & bras
designed for a temptress
but he has no interest
How long until
she falls from her lonely pedestal?
Someone else, likely a friend, will
offer to help.

UnderYourSpellabout 16 years agoNot necessarily Darth just because he's got money don't go tarring every woman with the idea shes just after his money or some women who have been accused of just that will get verrrrrrrry upset
darthjserabout 16 years agoDid she love the man for him or for his money? Trophy wife usually means someone pretty and people tend to see a woman falling for a rich man and the rest goes unsaid.
LeBrozabout 16 years agoAnother poem with expressions of loneliness. From the title, it's apparent that she's just a fixture, there to make him look good but then ignored and starving for deserved attention.

Angelineabout 16 years agoWell written and a poem that really works when read aloud, I think. There's something about the narrator's voice, a combination of cynicism and acceptance that really came across to me.
