I lie here
On this ridged bed.
No matter how I turn
The nagging doesn’t go away.

My back aches.
I need a pillow too,
For my head throbs
With discomfort and thoughts.

The unnatural blue lights
Have finally run down.
They brought me here for fun
And kept me too long.

Darkness flows around me.
Not a shred of wayward light
Races over the ground
In my willing cage.

It clings to me
Like black formless muck.
I try to retreat under the yielding blanket,
But it chases me down.

I look out from this hole,
That which is called a basement,
And see the trailing lines
Of silver hope.

I see now
That this darkness will fade
As my thoughts
Turn to dreams

transition is always the most difficult stage...you captured the transition between wakefullness and dreams very nicely...
