As I sit here in the windowseat staring at the sparkling sun on the new-fallen
snow, I find myself reflecting on my life. I compare myself to the lonely
tumbleweed. It grows, dries, then snaps off to be carried by the will of the
wind until it stops....plants a new seed.....grows again.....repeating the
cycle over and over....secure only for a moment in time......no permanence.
It must always adapt.....new environments.....new stresses.....growing with the
changes.....always new.....never old, comfortable, familiar.

TUMBLEWEED

Summer sun is at an end...
Tumbleweed breaks off and then...
Runs in front of Autumns's wind.

Piling up where no one knows...
Resting under winter's snows....
Seeds are shed and often froze.

With the coming of the Spring...
Seeds take root and grow again...
Wearing soft new growth of green.

Spring gives way to Summer's heat...
All new growth is now complete...
There's a shifting in its feet.

Weed looks back at where it's been...
Sigh...the cycle starts again...
Life...lived...moments in the wind.
