TV and Me

The TV remote is mine alone
So try and steal it if you dare!
An evening of TV dinners
And no sad waiting by the phone
For that special someone who never calls
When they promised that they will
‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Eastenders’ have both finished
So I’ll sit still and wait for ‘The Bill‘.
A bottle of wine and takeaway later
There’s a scary movie on Channel Four
And if I get bored later on
There’s always another film on Channel Four.
My eyes have turned into square ones
Eight hours of watching the screen
I’m not regretting my passion for the TV
Or my past loves that might have been.
