“Twin Promises”

     The light fairly glimmers,
and prances through the masters thought's.
     To illuminate the shadowed prize's,
and guide them to rising flight.
Our pleasure in seeing such comforting structures,
to ease our loathsome struggles.
'Twas not conceived, to importune injury.
Although the damage, lo, fallen to serious misery.

The great crown of the sky gathers amongst the bliss,
and pilfers the laughter from the "Robber Barons" at their risk.
     Challenge of the indifferent,
to escape the snowdown reign of the sullen prowl.
Prying to the "Dream March" imminent.

Hard to believe that we elite, sans gilt.
Soldier of the heart in the face, we poor negligent damned.
Wiffed and padlocked in restricted gain.
Never in the power of Samaritan resolution and transcendence.
Edged to the cut and ripped this coy prejudice.

Hard for you to believe, hard for you to see.
        Clutching, wicked, hand.
Saddled with this act.
Jezebel child and veiled against me.

Cold Pontius Pilot as you wear your merchant tact.
        You make your children slaves,
        to shelter your fear,
        pan ostrich opaque.
Professional sarcophagus, pilloried high above in White.
         Your gold-plated profile.
