two lovers dancing
in front of the fire
alone, with no demands
outside of the stone walls

that protects them from
the steady white snow
falling silently into the night
hanging heavy on the pines

their eyes make love
as bodies sway softly
keeping with the rhythm
leaving footprints in the shag

a cautious kiss returns
for another savor
all else fades
as tongue orbits tongue

cotton and silk drop to floor
hands find the warmth of flesh
and the wetness of desire
bodies fuse at the last flicker of fire

two lovers dancing
in front of the fire
deep into a winter night
knowing no chill, and no goodbye

soft love

That languid soft caress of love between two people
