Standing on a sea of hot asphalt
What time is the questioned asked

Diving into a pocket
          Another fishes around
One pulls out a cell phone
Bringing up a golden pocket watch
Plastic catches the light and shines brightly
It seems to glow like the sun
Electrons flow
          Tiny gears that never stop
Liquid crystal flares to life
          Move hands of brass

The response is the same.
"Two O'clock."
But the answer is very different.
