The day an animal takes its last breath, it has no concept of the meaning of death/
The dolphins that swim and the dogs that play, do not know they will have a last day/
The snakes that slither and the eagles that fly, just don’t know they’re destined to die/
The horses we ride and the sheep we tend, do not have a clue that their life will end/
It’s quite depressing and somewhat unfair that us humans are the only ones aware/
But I can be wrong in what I have said, because Rover may know the day I’ll be dead/
Gazelles are prey and lions that hunt both consider me to be an ignorant runt/
It’s not too assuring, and frankly, a scare, to think that I may be the one who is...unaware.
