I try to chase my thoughts down,

but they leave me stranded, dumb as a clown.

And betray my consciousness in a flutter's trace,

to be upon thy fair face.

The sands wind up the curved glass,

As they take me back into this class.

I gaze upon her with a nearer view,

A spirit, yet a woman too.

I will my gaze asunder from thy halo,

But my heart unwilling, and eyes even slow.

And SNAP! trapped in a trance 'm dosed,

The canvas of your raven eyes juxtaposed.

If only to touch you again,

If only a stolen glance.

I reminisce you clear, as a drop of rain,

to lend my sanity a last chance.

Come my thoughts, let my chains be fetched,

The colors of my memories are forever etched.

A creak of my own in the time's wheel turning,

I am left a man with unrestraint yearning
