Your pain seers through me
Smoldering the essence of my bones
The bricks and mortar you erected
Like giant fortify pillars
I cannot dislodge

You destroy my interior,
with each withdraw
Your secrets I know
Yet you still try to hide
perchance they will vanish

I reach for your hand
pleading with you
The blank stare,
Do you even notice I am here?

The turn of your cheek
Like a knife through my heart

All of the pain we'll endure
A promise I made
A promise kept

Take down your walls
One brick at a time
And when you open your heart
It is I you will find
