I had often heard
This unfamiliar calling
Crying out from within
Begging to be recognized.

I felt a white-hot need
Yet paid it no heed...
For the scene I had seen
I wasn't sure, was it a
Dream-fantasy, or a reality
Revisited?

Again, now awake, I could feel...
Breath... close and hot
Lips... moist and soft
Teeth... strong and sure
Sinking into my soft, yielding flesh.

Now, as I tossed, trying to move...
I felt a touch... light, then feathery
Hands... rough, yet kind
Fingers... long and wide
Holding me, firm, yet gentle.

Then I heard it, soft...
Spoken on a whisper
Drifting down
Warm upon my ear.
That voice... the voice I'd heard
In the back of my head...
The voice that had awakened me.

My eyes opened...
Blinking against the soft light.
Candles... everywhere.
Slowly I turned my head
And I came face to face
With scorching blue flames
As His eyes devoured me.

I hadn't given it a name,
This quiet want of mine...
Until it was brought before me
On His words, which were...
Simply these.

"Now... you are mine."

Re: Simply Breathtaking ~ To: Sweet_emOcean

Thank you Sweet_em...

I just wasn't quite sure the internal shivers I was feeling would be conveyed into the written word as well as I was silently hoping for. I am so pleased to see they were.

Though I may write stories, and love to build my characters and the intensity of the scenes... I just wasn't certain that the intense feeling and longing would carry over.

But, to know you got "shivers in all the right places" is proof enough that the feelings conveyed themselves. When I have words tumble into my dreams, they are jumbled... and it is sometimes very difficult to make sense of them or to get them down onto the 'canvas' so that they can be felt.

I am most pleased with how this came out... and that what I was feeling, yearning for actually, did indeed get well-conveyed.

Simply breathtaking

After the first few lines I felt it. The longing in your dream...your dream then becoming a reality that sent shivers through me in all the right places. Thank you Lady V for your heartfelt words.

To Mummy's Dirty Angel

This is quite new to me; this "Unfamiliar Calling"... the words came to me, in the middle of the night... and I just had to get them down, or run the risk of losing them ~ and the feelings within them ~ or to have them continue to run rampant within my head... keeping me awake.

I was not sure the "words within the words" would be conveyed as well as they were... it was 04:15am when I wrote this work.

Thank you for your kind words, and for sharing what you felt from them.
