Love is not fair
Sometimes said, but not meant
Causing great despair
Nothing but discontent

One side might really care
While the other side is bent
Love is not fair
Sometimes said, but not meant.

You soon become aware
And your heart is spent
Not being loved is pure torment
No other pain can compare
Love is not fair

Thoughtful lament on two sides of love: compare despair and really care is so expressive and succinct.
