I visited the home of relatives today,
hoping the change of scenery'd let my mind to stray.
There I was witness to what I'd long forgotten,
shelved in the back of my mind,
in danger of becoming rotten.
It was the unsolicited Love between two,
Played out there before me,
reminding me that which I'd forgotten

The unsolicited hug.
The unsolicited touch.
The unsolicited kiss.
All that, seemingly in our life,
has long been swept under our rug.

At first I wanted to run and hide
my already tear-tired eyes.
Not wanting to let on about our love awry
But I found I still could not turn my eye
from this display of their love, exemplified.

I again hated that our love was so remiss
of these little things I so desperately miss
The unsolicited hug.
The unsolicited touch.
The unsolicited kiss.

I pray that soon comes the day
when it is our love finally on display
when our love won't be remiss
when we can take pleasure in
The unsolicited hug.
The unsolicited touch.
The unsolicited kiss.
