locked away in a 1000 foot cage
built inch by inch through sorrow and pain
He seeks release from his prison

darkerdreamerabout 17 years agothat the huge cage is symbolic of the sheer amount of sorrow and pain, but it seems like a lot of space for the demon to roam. A small cage would make him want to run (a smaller cage with a thousand bars?). I like the style of this poem, but the metaphor leaves me wondering.
