They are here again, unwelcome guests.
Poking, prodding, tormenting
Never leaving well enough alone
Always there to steal my happiness
Pulling me back into their hell, torturing my soul
Conjuring memories once long forgotten
Bringing them back full force
As if they only happened yesterday
So vivid and lifelike are they
That I can feel the fear, taste the tears shed
Remember the humiliation and degredation
Knowing the helplessness all over again
I can't close them out because they will keep on knocking
Until I open the door and let them in
Allowing them to hurt me again
Why can't I close the door?
