With the top peeled back to a winter sky,

She headed west with a weary eye.

She knew what she wanted from him again,

So she made good time in the breakdown lane.

He pointed his hood toward Somerset,

Raised the RPM's to red,

Thought of the taste of her satin skin,

And buried his foot in the pedal again.

All I need for my heart to soar,

Is for him to look me in the eye once more.

Let me see if it's all a ruse,

As she bumped "Accel" on the Spyder's cruise.

The distance shrunk and the wanting grew

From the heart of a man who'd once been true.

Deep inside, she'd made him warm,

A day in a desert thunderstorm.

They both hit town and found the place,

A B&B perched on a hill by a lake.

Two rings gleamed in the fading light,

One turned 'round, then one out of sight.

She reached for him without a word.

None was needed, so none was heard.

What could be a more telling start

Than the simple truth of a pounding heart?
