There is a violence deep inside my soul
Hard thrusting shameless coarse and so direct
Impelled in hot pursuit of one clear goal
Which civil thoughts and romance can't deflect.
Fine words dress up the snarling wolf tonight
While on my arm you're dressed in finest silk
At dusk we dance, your eyes are shining bright
Amidst the treasures, polished stone and gilt.
Your living warmth through thin veneer of dress
Speaks to my hands as confident they hold
Your supple body, swaying hips and breasts,
As long we dance beneath the Moon so bold.
Until you yield to these romantic lies
And I still undeflected claim my prize.

Welcome to the poetry side of Lit — and with a sonnet, no less, peering past the veneer of seduction.
