Viscera, vestiges

flitting across
lithe glances
stealing the miles
Distances are merely words
that span

      Who listens,
      who preys,
      who craves
Devour the night
in its gloaming cloak.

      The Sun raises the shower,
fallen slowly
over the twined forms
spewing entrails, gutted
who passed there?

      or only their vestiges.
