be careful what you take and from
whom. there are things some women
can do that others don't know
much about that might be dangerous
for your pocketbook or your sanity
you won't believe what you're
going to want me to do. You lift
the veil and see everything you
want you breathe deep magnolias
and night jasmine and corn kernels
and orange rind. two brown boys
both blond like the father with
kind minds and strong hearts one pens
like his mother and the other bellows
out alone. I saw them in overalls
and wide smiles tiny fingers wrapped
round their parents' legs. Their
parents deep and close kiss as if the
other was a cool glass of water.
