with the tick tick ticking
of the ticker tape parade
and the flop flop flopping
of the hand
a straight in spades

she walked by and blinked
her levelor blinds
blue was the shade
a bid was made

i saw the bid
and it was raised
the ante was too steep
and yet i stayed
i played

she won, and in the end
i payed

at the tick tick ticking
of the grandfather clock
i submitted my pride
as the ticks turned to tocks

i bluffed a fools hand
to the hunter of man
she sunk her ruby red
talons into my hand

i followed suit and
lost my ass to boot
awakened by a knock
10 o'clock
check out time nears

twice the loser
in the game
in the bed
lady luck has fled
no one the wiser
except the voices
in my head

as the tink tink tinking
of the coins in the can
and the flick flick flicking
of the cards in the hand
stalk my memories

viva las vegas

Nice!

Some great lines. I particularly like these -

she walked by and blinked

her levelor blinds

blue was the shade -

and the sequence that follows. Well done. A five.
