Wait for me...

when the cold makes your body shiver
I hope you have the strength to refrain
from running away even though I’m sure
it'll be the strongest thought in your mind
when the lights go out and you can't cuddle
with me to keep warm on this winter night

wait for me...

if you feel like you can't continue
just remember that I’m here missing you
for whatever it's worth, I believe that
my birth only took place so I could stand
near you, and give my everything to see
you smile for even the briefest of moments

wait for me...

even if the world should end, because I
swear, I’ll return from heaven or hell
to get you so we can remain together
until the heavens explode because our
love was just too great for it to contain

wait for me...

until you breathe your final breath
and I’ll be there watching over you
to see that you're smiling as I make
my way towards your grave just so
you can see that I never gave up
I returned as I said I would because
I could never stop loving you

wait for me...

to arrive while you're still alive
so I can hold you tight in my arms
while our worries fade away into
a future that I never thought possible
just wait for me and I promise I will return
you to the place that felt heavenly
so you can spend the rest of your days
wearing a smile that seems to never tire
when you're here with me now that I’ve
come back from the hell I put myself through
for all those years, I’m finally here to
be the man I never was before, I’ve come
to prove that I will always love you
but now you're going away again

so I guess I better wait for you...
