Wake up!

3:00am I was reading a story on this website and the story got an emotional response from me, also I was listening to a song by a band called "Tool" at the time so after several beers I wrote this short story, it is not a happy story but it is about a person waking from a nightmare caused by the one he loves (or should that be loved?)

So my doctor keeps telling me...

It started off for us...

And at first it was...


(Wake UP!)


We had fun...

At least you did...

You swore to me you would stop...


(Wake UP!)


But you didn’t...you carried on...


(Wake UP!)


Then it was for you...and just for you...


(Wake UP!)


Then it was for others...


(Wake Up!)


I no longer mattered...


(Wake UP!)


You claimed to love me...


(Wake UP!)


You still do....


(Wake UP!)


But do you really?


(Wake UP!)


Do you know what ‘love’ really is...

I don’t....not any more...

You claimed it is for my pleasure...Wrong...

It was always you...always for you...it still is...

I was asleep...


(Wake UP!)


I thought I was asleep...


(WAKE UP!)


I moved...like the dead...through a fog...


(WAKE THE FUCK UP!)


I am now AWAKE...


(I am AWAKE!)


For the first time in a long time...


(I am now fully AWAKE!


You have just earned the right to be my perfect enemy...


(I am awake...)


Just know you have disappointed me...
