My folded arms show my stance to the world
My open heart wishes things were different
Eyes wide open that should have stayed shut
Now cast themselves downwards in shame
Follow the preachers of the dollar and shares
Share in the wealth that is certainly not there
Chasing dreams made of silver and gold
It's madness that will leave me cold and old
Let's make more of this shiny new gadget
Drive our hungry cars on poisoned roads
And ignore the death that grows around us
Extinction breeds an empty space to fill
Green turns a deeper shade of grey
And blue, life giving oceans are left barren
Scoffing sceptics lounge in their comfort
As bare feet walk miles for drops of nectar
Hell on earth is here and now
Three quarters see it every day
The minority turn their backs
Safe behind growing walls
But hell is stronger
Air grows thinner
Food scarcer
Death quicker
Wake up
