We walked hand and hand
on the deserted moonlit beach.
The waves are crashing beside us,
the birds just out of reach.

I can feel your heart pounding
as I grip your tiny hand.
I help you walk along with me
as we stagger through the sand.

Mother nature in all her beauty
could not match your precious smile.
Your eyes of blue your hair of gold
and your legs that last a mile.

We stop all the sudden on that beach
the waves breaking at our feet.
We turned around to face each other
our eyes they slowly meet.

The gentle moonlight on your face
accentuates your curves
I want to kiss you deeply
but I haven’t got the nerves.

We are locked together in loves tight grip
my heart is set at ease.
My hands begin to tremble
followed quickly by my knees.

The words that I love you begin
to escape my trembling lips.
You cover my mouth in sign of hush
with your tender fingertips.

Without a word I pull you close
and begin to hold you tight.
I could stay here with you forever
but for now I want tonight.

I close my eyes and think of you
I know your body through and through.
Every curve every crease every mark
from your head down to your shoe.

How on earth did I fall in love
and find someone so true.
How was I lucky enough
to meet someone like you.

I can see your soul before me
as I gaze deeply into your eyes.
I can see the smiles from our hellos
and the scars from our goodbyes.

As I stand on the beach I realize
I fall more in love with you each day.
Unfortunately there are no words
that can express what I wish to say.

I stand before you as the ocean quiets
and the winds begin to calm.
I gently kiss your knuckles then
flip and kiss your palm.

I look to your face and slowly ask
“Tell me how it’s so.”
“That I have fallen so in love
with a person I barely know.”

The answer I am afraid I do not have
but this I tell you now.
I will love you forever and always
and I kiss your arching brow.

I hold you closely to me
your head against my chest
The noises of the ocean return
and then slowly do the rest.

I raise my hand to touch your cheek
and a smile I do draw
Your smile is so special to me
it is the greatest I ever saw.

It warms me on the inside
and it makes me happy too
I could stay here forever
on this beach with you.

I close my eyes and hold you
as the winds begin to fade
Your eyes of icy blue stare into mine
as green as jade.

In all my life and all my days
there is only one thing that I fear.
That someday I will wake from this dream
and you will disappear.
