Recently, I've been walking with Thoreau, you know:
Walking on sunlit trails,
Listening to the sound of quails,
And his high flown prolific prose.
It's delicious enough to tickle Gods nose.
As I walk by his side,
I feel like I can fly
With him in his elucidation and wonder
He moves with certainty to mountain top yonder
And back again with facility and form
His insights, his daring they make me warm
With the glow of truth rising to my cheeks
I can follow where he's going I can sense what he seeks.

Recently, I've been walking with Thoreau you know:
And my world is turned around
My feet aren't on the ground
They are trying to follow my soul and whim
They are trying to walk along with him.
Yet as his great mind moves from sonnets to prose
He always remembers to touch the rose
His compassion is broad and mindful and deep,
And I know my secrets he'll forever keep.
We are so blessed to have such a man
And here he is walking by my hand.

Yes recently, I've been walking with Thoreau you know.
