Brick by brick I build walls
shielding me from pain and hurt,
keeping me numb and safe
until I met you and then
you removed my walls
brick by brick with your
words, love, and desire.
But it was only a game
for you and now
the pain requires that
I rebuild the walls with
hardened tears and anger,
removing the pain.
Numb and safe once
again I feel nothing.
