As you wander this world, you will see many things to make your heart heavy. You will see good, industrious men living in sludge and working in squalor. You will see colossal cities, bleak temples to the gods of greed and chaos. You will see petty politics, artfully framed and held up as sublime genius. You will come across brushy deserts where plentiful sweat and art suffice only to wrest a living from the land. On beautiful tropical islands, you will find that the mosquitoes carry disease and the people corruption.
But do not confuse appearances with reality. That which dies will be born. We do not see the seeds which even now find sustenance in the muck. And that which we do see is as a giant redwood, the creating roots of which extend deep into the earth. That which is morally dead will dry out and burn and the noble deserts will be flourishing gardens in their time. So do not launch like a rocket for the age of rocket is not yet. Rather, glide like an eagle and the Lord will reward you with the fish in the sea.
