“Wanting You”

I was the happiest girl in the world
The luckiest girl in the world
For I thought I had lost you
But I had not
You loved me

Such emotions I had not felt before
That feeling of total belonging
My soul belonged to you
My heart was at one with yours
I was not prepared for this

It took me by surprise
Such that I knew it must be true
I loved you like no other
I wanted to belong to you

But my dear you have been untrue
How could this be so
You loved me
I loved you
It cannot be true

Now I must come to terms
With what we know to be true
You have left me for another
And I am left wanting you
