“Let us fight!”
..... and they laughed.
The panoply of war is quickly on.
The flashing eye,
the quickening blood.
Fierce warriors chant their savage songs.
The crimson waters of battle, flood.
“We have won!”
..... and they laughed.

“We have won!”
..... and they laughed.
A victory of Right, and Just, no less!
The songs of praise,
come, lift the cup!
Then a voice was heard,
from the wilderness.
“No, I have won!”
..... and death laughed.

So much..

..good work today from so many newer poets. Both of your poem's show a strong hold on language, and an understanding of image and economy of words. They show great promise of wonderful things to come. Keep sharing your work with us!
