Warm Wings

Is there room under your wings
For a restless heart to take shelter?
Winter chills her weary bones
She longs for sunny weather
Gone the daybreak song
On the blossomed bough
Can you your warmth lend
Close to your heart for now?
Like a broken bird my body pains
My angel wings are torn
I need the beating of your heart
Till I hear summer's song
Can you fold me in your wings
Keep out winter's cold?
Then when I'm ready to fly again.
Give me your hand to hold?
Can you believe there'll come a time
When we can touch with hearts and minds
That when our souls have grown their wings
Together we'll leave this world behind?
