Drum beat

Pounding rhythm

Raising energy with every beat

Pulling my heartbeat in

To match the heart beat of Mother Earth

Lost in the beat of the drum

My mind wanders

To another time and place

Journey to recover my soul

Dark cave

Walls of obsidian

My hands feel the coolness

Of the smooth walls

Spiraling down into the womb

I find myself standing in the center

To meet the warrior

He whose face changes

But his spirit always the same

Placing hands over my heart

Releasing the bounds that hold me constricted

Great white light fills my soul

His lesson is one of strength and endurance

His painted face smiles at me

And the knowledge that he watches,

Seeps into my soul

I have never been alone

He has and always will be with me

In dreams, visions he is never far.

***Inspired by a vision during a drumming circle
