Waste Not Want Not

Icky, sticky, boy that was dumb.
I put my foot right in that gum.
Someone ate it and spit it out.
Now it’s on my show, what’s that all about.

Sitting on the ground all soft and hot.
Waiting for my shoe to find that spot.
Nasty and dirty all covered with germs.
Try pulling it off, it stretches like worms.

Okay, great, this just isn’t fair.
They got all the flavor, then left it there.
Now on my shoe it sticks like glue.
Day old gum someone else got to chew.

See that ain’t cool, it just ain't right.
I have to clean up gum, I didn’t get to bite.
Well I can fix that real easy and quick.
Just let me find myself a stick.

I’ll scoop this gum until it’s off.
It still smells fruity and feels so soft.
It’s gooey and thick, just like paste.
I wonder if it still has taste.

If I threw it out and it was still good.
I’d feel so bad I just know I would.
So I chewed it and chewed it the rest of the day.
Hey, waste not want not I always say.
